An intrinsic excitant effect that stimulates peristalsis, the normal movement of the intestines in moving the food bolus, usually alternate reflex applications
Indications:
- Decreased Peristalsis and Low Motility
- Hot Enema
- Cold Enema to increase gastric motility
- cold to epigastrium or thoracic spine
- Sipping 200 mls of cold water or Ice Bag to the Epigastrium for 30 min before a meal
- with Intestinal Inflammation
- Graduated Enema
- Cold Douche or Alternate Douche over the lumbar area, the abdomen and especially around the umbilicus
- for Insensitive Rectum
- Alternate Rectal Lavage
