Neurasthenia with distressing abdominal symptoms. Patient feels heavy, exhausted and depressed (the blues).
Predisposing factors:

All these factors paralyse the intestinal vasomotors leading to distension and engorgement of the splanchnic vessels especially the veins.
Treatment aims at
- increasing abdominal pressure (thus blood flow)
- Stimulating splanchnic vasomotors thus relieving stasis
- increasing blood flow especially in liver to hasten elimination of the toxins
