Treatment and prevention of spread:

• Antiphlogistics
  • Cooling Compress (15-21°C) change as it becomes warm during early stages of the disease, make changes quickly so there is no reaction causing more pain and swelling or use
  • Irrigated Compress
  • Avoid Ice Bag or Cooling Compress as they cause sloughing
  • Ice Collar when head or face is affected
• for Fluxion to relieve atony of vasoconstrictors
  • Very hot Fomentations or Douches 2-5 min every 2 hours
  • Alternating Applications as suit the part, change quickly to prevent reaction
