Stimulate cerebral circulation by Fluxion
- A covered spine bag (long Hot Water Bottle) partly filled with hot water, is placed across the pillow so when the patient lies it can be brought up around the neck and back of head.
- A compress (gauze or cheesecloth, 4 thicknesses, 30x30cm) is wrung from ice water, applied to face covering top of head and ears. Press down firmly over forehead and temporal arteries.
- Renew compress every minute with a second soaking in the ice water
- After 3 minutes replace spine bag with 2 covered Ice Bag and the compress with one wrung quite dry from hot water.
- Renew compress every minute.
- Continue for 3 complete changes.
- To finish: cool by wiping with cold compress, dry thoroughly especially the hair.
