Preparation:
- Dry Friction over the part where poor cold tolerance or poor reaction
- over front of abdomen, from xiphoid to pubis.
Finish with:
- Cool Sponge and Rubbing then Dry Abdominal Bandage
- for Debility folded wet pillow case to epigastrium
Tonic :
change every two hours, scant protection in
- Minor Visceral Irritation or minor Visceral Congestion in
- Change every 30 min in acute Peritonitis in
- Uterine Haemorrhage especially Menorrhagia - bandage to umbilical region only, avoid Pelvic Congestion
- Protected: Cerebral Congestion in Insomnia
Contra-indications to Derivative compress (protected)
Diseased portal system :-
- varicose veins of the alimentary system in Cirrhosis and hepatic sclerosis
- acute Portal Congestion - in chronic continued fevers
- acute Hepatic Congestion from alimentary infection in:
- Hepatitis
- Chronic Gastritis
- Gastroenteritis
- Ascites
- Constipation due to colon atony or dilation.
