Occurs usually in Fevers
In:
- Pulmonary Congestion
- Typhoid Fever - 2
- Broncho-Pneumonia
- Lobar Pneumonia - begin with Fomentations every 3 hours then lengthen interval and change Cold Compress less frequently as temperature is lowered
- Tuberculosis
Treatment Method:
Prevent by: frequent change of patient's position
- Antiphlogistics to begin with :
- Fomentations to chest and back 10 min every hour with
- Cold Compress in interval, renew every 15 min, rub surface well at change as skin must be kept warm.
- Derivatives as in Active Congestion
- Sit up in bed
Then once active congestion is established in skin use:-
- Fluxion:
- Heating Compress changed hourly, to prevent exudate then later
- Cotton Poultice either with or without Pail Pour

- Alternate Compress to chest 15 min every 3 hours in interval...
- Heating Square Chest Pack 15°C changing every hour rub chest well at the change.
- Hot Foot Bath or Leg Pack
