General Method:
- Bed Rest
- Sweating Treatments follow with vigorous Graduated Tonic Cold
- 2x a day for 3 days before withdrawing drug
- Then follow the method in alcoholism but withdraw gradually over a few days
Problems during withdrawal:
- Psychoses
- Cardiac Insufficiency
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Local Pain
- Insomnia especially after withdrawal

Hydrotherapy, useful adjunct to recovery
During early abstinence with symptoms of:
- nausea
- diarrhoea
- shifting pains
- great restlessness
- sleeplessness
Treatment:
- Continuous Tub Bath 30min-3hrs to relieve symptoms
- Wet Sheet Pack to induce sleep
- Fomentations to relieve localised pains
- Ice Bag over stomach to relieve nausea
Later when early symptoms relieved Eliminatives and Tonic:
- Electric Light Bath (esp. with heroin) or
- Hot Air Bath
- followed by Circle Douche and Fan Douche
