- Like an uncovered Wet Sheet Pack
- Evaporation may be encouraged further, to tolerance, by
- Fanning by hand or electric
- Keeping sheet wet
- Moderate friction applied over sheet
Hot in:
- Retention Fevers
- nervous cases
- dislike of cold
Procedure:
- Wring well from water 55-60°C or as hot as the patient can bear
- Fan sheet and apply gentle friction
- Repeat in 2 min or when feeling of chill
Cold rarely used except where skin very congested in Production Fever
- vigorous rubbing to maintain circulation
